WHO WE ARE

OUR MISSION

We joyfully embrace the transformative love of Christ, fostering connections that transcend barriers. We are a community of hope and discipleship that strives to celebrate and empower every person to flourish in the light of God's love.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

COME AS YOU ARE

When you walk through our doors you will see people dressed in casual shirts, jeans, and even coat and ties. We want you to feel at ease from the moment you arrive so that you immediately feel a part of our welcoming spiritual home. Want to learn more? Join us in Social Hall after worship for coffee and conversation.

We also hold quarterly Inquirers' Classes for those looking to join the church or just learn what it means to be a Presbyterian.
If have any questions, please connect with us. We love to hear from our new visitors.

OUR TEAM

GET TO KNOW THE FIRST PRES CHURCH STAFF

Rev. Dr. Brian R. Paulson

PASTOR/HEAD OF STAFF

Brian enjoys the call of a lifetime as lead Pastor with our congregation in the heart of Lake County. He joyfully claims Libertyville as the place he has called home longer than anywhere else as an adult.

Rev. Amy Heinrich

ASSOCIATE PASTOR, CONGREGATIONAL LIFE

Amy loves to preach and teach, striving to bring the news and the good news together so that the gospel is relevant and the news breaks our hearts open to hope. She is passionate about the intersection of our inner and outer lives and the stewardship of God's creation.

Rev. Nicole Chapman-Farley

INTERIM ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Nicole (she/her) does her best to follow Jesus as a co-conspirator with those who seek to bring about wholeness, dignity, and justice for all. As Interim Associate Pastor, she seeks to do that with good company, borne out of good listening to one another and the Spirit.

Rev. Kimberly Mendoza

PASTORAL RESIDENT

Kim grew up attending and serving a Filipino-American Presbyterian Church in Henderson, NV, which started as bible study in her family's living room.  An alumni of Azusa Pacific University and Austin Seminary, Kim now serves as the Pastoral Resident at FPC Libertyville and will complete her residency in June. She also serves as a musical worship leader for the denomination, most recently leading for various conferences at Montreat and Mo-ranch, and will be at Massanetta Springs for a week this upcoming summer!
