Within the personnel structure of First Presbyterian, the APCE reports directly to the Head of Staff. The APCE coordinates and collaborates with the Head of Staff and the Associate Pastor for Youth Ministries and supervises, guides, encourages and evaluates the Coordinator for Christian Education (CCE). The position seeks an enthusiastic and energetic leader who will establish a vibrant and transformative Christian Education environment.

As a member of the Teaching Elder Staff of the First Presbyterian Church of Libertyville, the Associate Pastor for Christian Education (APCE) is called in many directions; to be a colleague, mentor, mentee, student, teacher, leader, follower, worship leader and participant, and always a prayerful witness to God’s love at work in his/her own life, the life of the First Presbyterian congregation, in the life of the greater Libertyville community, the Presbytery and in the lives of all whom he/she encounters.
